Glenn Beck: 'Is Obama the Antichrist?'

advertisement

Today on his CNN Headline News show, Glenn Beck asked Pastor John Hagee whether Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) is the embodiment of evil:

There are people — they say this about Bill Clinton — he might be the anti-Christ. Odds that Barack Obama is the Antichrist?

"In 2006, Beck also called Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) the anti-Christ, stating, "I think we may have found our Antichrist and our next president."

Holy muther of all the good-n-plenty....do you for one instance believe he was serious? I think out of all the crapo that has been forcefully taken out of context on Beck this tops it!

@Dennis, I have seen you seed much better man, much better.

I can't believe you're taking him seriously. This is just pathetic, laughable, and half-witted.

People in politics know, that if stuff like this is repeated enough, it will take hold. Even in joking, when it is repeated over and over, the weak minded will buy it. After Hillary Clinton did the old NAFTA two step, and convinced Ohio that she is the champion against the NAFTA HW Bush and and her husband Bill has stamped accross their foreheads, I am now convinced that the American people will believe anything.

I think you should broaden your comment to "People who don't pay attention are more likely to believe nonsense then those that do". There are plenty of Europeans who believe anything you put in front of them. Hell there are some that believe being a homicide bomber is actually righteous and will get them a higher place in Heaven.

A true anti-Christ would likely prefer to keep a low profile.

How true! Moses remained in the wilderness forty years (Acts 7:29, 30) until God "made" him fulfill his mission.

After his calling, Moses appeared to stall and delay:

"And Moses said unto God, Who [am] I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?" (Exodus 3:11).

"And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I [am] not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I [am] slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. . . . And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses" (Exodus 4:10, 14).

RE: The Good Antichrist as the New Moses

The parallels between Moses and the Good Antichrist are unmistakable.

BOTH EMERGE FROM THE WATER.

Moses: Pharaoh's daughter "called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water" (Exodus 2:10).

The Antichrist: "I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea" (Revelation 13:1).

BOTH CALL OUT THE JEWS.

Exodus 6:6, 11.

Revelation 18:4.

BOTH SING A NEW SONG; THAT IS, THE ACCOUNT OF THEIR SIMILAR, THOUGH UNIQUE, EXPERIENCE.

The Song of Moses is recorded in Deuteronomy at 32:1-43.

The Song of the Antichrist, the Lamb of the book of Revelation: "And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints" (Revelation 15:3). See my articles, "The Victory of the Beast, His Image, His Mark, and His Number" (May 2006); "Christ and Antichrist, the Two Lambs" (June 2006).

BOTH MARSHAL JUDGMENTS AND PLAGUES.

Exodus 7:14 - 12:30.

Revelation 15:6ff.

BOTH NUMBER THE CAMP OF ISRAEL.

Exodus 30:12

Revelation 7

BOTH HAVE A LIEUTENANT, WHO ACTS AS SPOKESMAN.

"And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart. And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do. And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God" (Exodus 4:14-16).

"And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet. Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land" (Exodus 7:1, 2).

Revelation 13:11ff.

BOTH ARE CONCERNED WITH SABBATH REST FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD.

"And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob" (Exodus 2:23, 24).

"And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens. And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens" (Exodus 5:4, 5).

In Revelation 14:7, the First Angel cites language from Exodus 20:11, the Sabbath Commandment.

BOTH EXHIBIT "SIGNS AND WONDERS" TO VALIDATE THEIR AUTHORITY.

Moses: "And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt" (Exodus 7:3).

The Antichrist: "[Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan [Serpent, Revelation 12:9] with all power and signs and lying wonders" (2 Thessalonians 2:9).

Moses and Aaron exercised power over the serpent:

"And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand: That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee" (Exodus 4:1-5 ).

"When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent" (Exodus 7:9).

BOTH WIELD A ROD.

"And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs" (Exodus 4:17).

"And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God" (Revelation 19:15). Also, Revelation 2:27; 12:5.

CONCLUSION

Like Moses, the good Antichrist is a servant of God. The good Antichrist is charged with the duty of restoring the Jews to the Promised Land in fulfillment of God's covenant promises.

RE: The identity and gender of the Good Antichrist

The concept of the Antichrist, like the concept of the messiah, is mostly a derived biblical teaching. I believe that Jesus Christ was the first of anticipated Dual Messiahs. The Antichrist is as real as Jesus Christ.

"Jesus Christ" is a combination of name and title. "Jesus" is a name. "Christ" is a title meaning "anointed". Likewise, "Antichrist" is a title.

The name of the Antichrist is in the Book of Ezekiel, noted as plainly as day for anyone astute to notice it.

There are dozens of specific clues about the identity of the Antichrist.

I depart from traditional theology in ascribing a benevolent nature to the Antichrist; hence, in my writings I emphasize the "Good Antichrist".

The Antichrist is variously known by descriptors such as "dark". There are images in Europe of the Black Madonna and her child. But "dark" does not imply the skin color of the second messiah. Rather, it refers to his (or her) hidden (or lost) aspect.

The Antichrist is actually Caucasian and likely female (or a person who is BOTH male and female, which would denote a third sex, a category of gender identity held especially sacred by Native Americans and other ancient cultures). Those taught to believe in the superiority of a patriarchal over a matriarchal society, might consider this an ABOMINATION.

Some biblical passages indicate a MALE messiah; others, a FEMALE messiah. In favor of the position that the Good Antichrist is female, consider the first, thirteenth, and seventeenth chapters of the Book of Revelation.

FEMALE ANTICHRIST IN REVELATION 1

Is there evidence in the depiction of the "Son of Man" in Revelation 1:10-18 confirming that this messiah is actually a woman?

"I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: . . . I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw . . . one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death."

"I saw . . . one like unto the Son of man". This is a highly peculiar thing for John to state. According to tradition, the Apostle John, the same John who reclined his head upon the breast of Jesus, wrote the Apocalypse. Yet it appears from this phrase that John does NOT recognize this mystical figure as Jesus Christ. Could this "Son of Man" be the pre-existent, glorified Antichrist?

In the Gospels, Jesus frequently spoke about the "Son of Man" in the third person, as though to suggest that He was not referring to Himself. For example, in Luke 9:26, Jesus said, "For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and [in his] Father's, and of the holy angels". And,

"For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one [part] under heaven, shineth unto the other [part] under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day" (Luke 17:24).

"And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man" (Luke 17:26).

"Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed" (Luke 17:30).

"I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:8).

Yet, Jesus also obviously meant Himself when He said,

"The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!" (Luke 7:34).

"The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day" (Luke 9:22).

"Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men" (Luke 9:44).

"Son of Man" is likely a messianic title, so it can properly be used in reference to each of the Dual Messiahs.

"His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow". Jesus was Semitic, not Caucasian. The mystical person in this description is white. According to prophecy, the Antichrist's paternal lineage is Gentile. His or her father comes from (literally or as a descendant) the Caucasus area between the Seas (Caspian and Black Seas).

His eyes, as flames of fire, are reminiscent of the "Hashmal" ("colour of amber", literally, "eye") associated with God's throne in Ezekiel 1:4.

The assertion that the "one like unto the Son of man" in Revelation 1 is not Jesus Christ is supported by a comparison of this figure with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords depicted in Revelation 19:11-16. The latter is an obvious reference to Jesus Christ. Both appear in their "divine" aspect as bearing the long-sword (Greek, "rhomphaia"). Their eyes are like flames of fire. But this is where the similarities end.

MANNER OF DRESS. Their manner of dress is quite different.

The King of Kings and Lord of Lords is "clothed [Greek, "periball"] with a vesture [Greek, "himation"]" (Revelation 19:13).

The "[one] like unto the Son of man" is "clothed [Greek, "enduo"] with a garment down to the foot, and girt [Greek, "perizonnumi"] about the paps [Greek, "mastos"] with a golden girdle [Greek, "zone"]" (Revelation 1:13).

Whereas the type of clothing may reflect its function, and the function of each personage may be different according to the context of either Revelation 1 or Revelation 19, it is unmistakable that there is the distinct possibility of two messiahs, one male and one female. The messiah of Revelation 1 is "girt about the paps", meaning "breasts". The Greek term for paps is "mastos". It is used a total of three times in the New Testament; in this one verse in Revelation, and in the following two passages from the Gospels:

"And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed [is] the womb that bare thee, and the paps ["mastos"] which thou hast sucked" (Luke 11:27). "For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed [are] the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps ["mastos"] which never gave suck" (Luke 23:29).

It is noteworthy that paps ("mastos") is used ONLY in regard to women.

FEMALE ANTICHRIST IN REVELATION 13

In the King James Version, the Antichrist Beast is described as follows: "And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion" (Revelation 13:2).

The primary body shape of the Beast is that of a leopard (pardalis). According to Darby's translation, Revelation 13:2 ought to read, "And the beast which I saw was like to a leopardess, and its feet as of a bear, and its mouth as a lion's mouth."

The gender of the Beast in Darby's translation is female, a leopardESS.

FEMALE ANTICHRIST IN REVELATION 17

The Good Antichrist is likely again depicted in her female aspect in Revelation 17:

[1] And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
[2] With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
[3] So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
[4] And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
[5] And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
[6] And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
[7] And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
[8] The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
[9] And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
[10] And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
[11] And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
[12] And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
[13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
[14] These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
[15] And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
[16] And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
[17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
[18] And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

When John saw the Scarlet Woman, he said, "I wondered with great admiration". She is portrayed in red because she is the anti-typical Sin-Bearer of Israel, according to the typology of the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) in the Old Testament Sanctuary System.

"He carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness". The Yom Kippur "Scapegoat", or Sin-Bearer, was a typical goat (not the typical lamb associated with the Sin-Bearer aspect of Jesus Christ) sent into the wilderness.

The great sin of Israel, as here depicted, is the inordinate pursuit of wealth.

The Ten Horns represent the Ten Lost tribes of Israel; i.e., the Diaspora, or Dispersion of Israel (out of the Land). These are further typified by the ten sons of Jacob in this passage:

"And Joseph's ten brethren went down to buy corn in Egypt" (Genesis 42:3).

The Dual Messiahs are modeled after the patriarchs David and Joseph. The Antichrist is specifically associated with Joseph (Moshiach ben Yossef). See:

"Do the Jews expect dual messiahs?",

http://amberneve.newsvine.com/_news/2007/12/20/1177851-do-the-jews-expect-dual-messiahs

Another clue: The Scarlet Woman lives in a place called (or meaning) "Many Waters" (verse 1).

When I approach the study of the Bible, I hold the premise that it is the true Word of God. I do not say, That cannot be! Rather, when I am puzzled, I ask, Is it possible? How can that be? I marvel and wonder at the riches and goodness of God. "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable [are] his judgments, and his ways past finding out" (Romans 11:33). "Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number" (Job 9:10).

The standard for a biblical Good Antichrist is so high that when judged by its statistical occurrence, he or she establishes his or her validity (and thus authority) beyond any reasonable doubt. The Good Antichrist is a living metaphor, a true miracle in its literal sense. The Bible has pre-ordained this path. This is why I strenuously support my assertions with proof texts.

I propose that this Good Antichrist is both male and female. But how can this be? An hermaphrodite or a pre-operative male-to-female transsexual.

This one rather extreme truth regarding the gender of the Good Antichrist eliminates most popular "contenders" for this office, including (I assume) both Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton.

WHEN THE GOOD ANTICHRIST AND THE BAD ANTICHRIST GATHER FOR THE FINAL EPIC BATTLE ABOVE THE CLIFFS OF INSANITY, THE PRINCE OF GUILDER WILL PURSUE HIM UNTO THE FIRE SWAMP, WHEREUPON HE SHALL SLAY THE FIRE WITCH IN THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING. THIS IS ACCORDING TO LOOSECHANGE.COM. I SEEM TO HAVE DEVELOPED A PROBLEM WITH MY ATTENTION SPAN AS I WAS TYPING THIS AND AM NOT SURE WHERE I BEGAN OR WHERE I AM HEADING OR WHERE I BEGAN.

THE GOOD ANTICHRIST HAS BADE ME MAKE THIS AND MANY OTHER POSTS ON THE NEWSVINE.

Tom Bombadil,

Notice the following comment made in regard to the article at this link?

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/asia/article3574672.ece

While touring Bali 20 years ago I came across a Womens Art Gallery in Ubud. I was fascinated by a tapestry which depicted a hermaphrodite, with breasts and penis, at the top of a pyramid. Spreading out to the base of the pyramid were the Hindu characters usually depicted. As I studied the tapestry a young woman came over to stand beside me. She said it was made by her grandmother and asked why I was interested. I answered that I had researched many aspects of ancient history and had concluded that the "Dominance/Competitive Paradigm" , which exists today, is a successor to the "Balance/Co-operative Paradigm". The Hindu figures in the tapestry reflected gender balance - the basis, I thought, for the B/CP. She agreed, saying that the original Hinduism was based on the B/CP. The "Original Ancestor" at the top was neither and both genders, and embodied the ideal of balance between genders and all the other forces which eminate from that balance. Where and when did the change happen?

gwen dejong, Rydal, New South Wales, Australia

Why should this figure be regarded as a metaphor? Why not a literal depiction of a Savior (known by many names, including Maitreya) who is both male and female?

I have written in my Newsvine column about this living person.

You suggest someone — anyone — is the Antichrist on national television, the FCC comes and takes your broadcasters' license and you wind up working in a gas station. Which is perfect for Glenn Beck, since he is a gasbag to begin with.

Everybody who ever had a shot at obtaining power since the idea of the anti-christ came into existence has been suspected. Napoleon, Hitler, George W. Bush, his father, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton .... sigh. I've just come to expect it. Perhaps someday I'll be accused of being the anti-christ. Jeez, can't anyone bathe in goats blood these days without being harassed about it?

Maybe my bias is showing but I always thought that when the Anti-Christ came, he (or she) would be a registered Republican.

Now that I think about it, that's a pretty silly notion. The GOP would never let a woman be the Anti-Christ.

    Beck doesn't believe in Christ?

I'm not really sure we can say that, at least based upon the songs he has written thus far. "Loser" indicated a strong tongue-in-cheek skepticism and nihilistic leanings, but I would not say that it definitively marks Beck as an athiest.

Moby, on the other hand, is definitely Satanic, except for "We Are All Made of Stars," which is kind of catchy, if you want to know the truth.

Seriously, though, Claus, this is not a job for which one can apply. There is no political vying for the top position. The Antichrist is born for this purpose.

According to Revelation 13, there is a second two-horned beast that acts as an "enabler" or "enforcer" in bringing the Antichrist to power. The United States (and possibly the United Kingdom) may be prefigured by this two-horned beast power. As Moses arose from obscurity, so will the Antichrist. He (or she) will be called to task when the Quartet (United Nations, European Union, United States, and Russia) see no other alternative to settling an unsettled state or world conditions, likely brought on (supernaturally, as when the plagues attended Moses and befell Egypt) by a combination of military strife and natural upheavals.

Side from that, you'd have to think what IS the Anti-Christ. A lot of people associate that with a great gnashing of teeth, war mongering, and being brutal after tricking people into supporting him/her.

If we look at, and forgive me, a Star Wars analogy here there is hte Light Side and Dark Side. The Dark side isn't necessarily 'evil' per se. It's just selfish. Hm... if a guy is standing on the corner, poor and hungry the Light side Jedi would give him money for food. We find this 'good'. The Dark Side would not give the man money, but not always because they feel that the man doesn't deserve food, but because when you elevate one person in a group of depraved, then that elevated person then becomes a target and can be harmed. Why put the man in danger? However you don't read in the stories about dark jedi doing abstract actions with total good intent, they have a selfish motive. But evil, is a loose term that can be defined many ways, as can good.

If you believe in Christ and God, Christ DID teach pacifism and tolerance - but the main consistency of Christ was selflessness. So, wouldn't the anti-Christ basically just be a person very much like the Marqis de Sade? All about personal pleasures and self gratification? It doesn't necessarily mean that the Anti-Christ will be a direct opposite in all forms. Of course, the anti-Christ issue onlyhas any relevance to anyone if they also believe in Christ.

Atheists get off scot free on this one... No God. Without God, no Christ. No Christ, then there is no anti-Christ. There is however, moral and immoral to everyone. As to what is what, that's up to the individual.

Haven't people always thought that Nero, Lord Buckingham, Napoleon, any pope, Stalin, Gorbachev and a lot of other people were the antichrist?

I don't know about Lord Buckingham, but I am pretty sure that in the late 1970s, Stevie Nicks thought that Lindsay Buckingham was the anti-Christ.

As for me, I still think it's Rupert Holmes (the "If you like Pina Coladas" song guy).

        Claus,

While the timing of the first of the Dual Messiahs, Jesus Christ, is predicted by the Bible in the Seventy Weeks prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 (compare Mark 1:14, 15 and Luke 19:44), the timing of the second messiah is not. Jesus said,

"Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh" (Matthew 25:13).

        And,

"But of that day and [that] hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father" (Mark 13:32).

While never claiming that the earth itself is this young, I have already written about the notion that 7,000 years are allotted to the present cycle of time:

        "The Menorah Prophecies",

        http://amberneve.newsvine.com/_news/2007/12/20/1177192-the-menorah-prophecies

One day of prophetic time may be equal to one thousand years of literal time. "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day" (2 Peter 3:8).

Assuming that the premise of 7,000 years is correct, consider the following factors when plotting our place in the timeline of salvific history:

        1. Bible chronologists trace biblical history back as far as roughly 4,000 BC.

"[James] Ussher's proposed date of 4004 BC differed little from other Biblically-based estimates, such as those of Bede (3952 BC), Ussher's near-contemporary, Scaliger (3949 BC), Johannes Kepler (3992 BC) or Sir Isaac Newton (c. 4000 BC)." - Wikipedia

        2. Some Jewish sources say that Creation started on October 7, 3760 BC. This is particular to me insofar as the date of Creation would have ended on October 14, the day and month I ascribe as the birthdate of the Good Antichrist.

        3. The Millennium (1,000 years; Revelation 20).

So this is our calculation: 7,000 - 4,000 (BC time) - 2,000 (AD time) = 1,000 years remaining, which is the 1,000 years of peace anticipated in the Millennium.

At the least, the foregoing shows from the literalist point of view that we are living within a statistically significant range of time for a big spiritual event. Anyone who had lived through the major social and political changes of the 1960's would not be surprised to hear this.

While chronology as it pertains to our time is not a definite proof, it ought to give us pause for reflection.

Whereas this chronology would seem to discount many of the contenders on your list of antichrists, our inquiry is further complicated by the three major viewpoints of prophetic interpretation: preterist, historicist, and futurist.

According to the preterists, Nero was the Antichrist.

The historicists find the Antichrist in the office of the Papacy.

Futurists are still speculating about the Antichrist and hope to avoid him (or her) by being Raptured to heaven beforehand.

My research supports the conclusion that the preterists and historicists are both correct. The final Antichrist will be a Caesar; i.e., Nero "resurrected"; and also, the final pope known as Peter II (Petrus Romanus, "Peter the Roman"). This is confirmed in part by interpretations of the two (rather than one) Little Horns of Daniel 7:8 and 8:9.

I do not believe in a Rapture.

There are many, many person characteristics (such as the lineage of both parents) that identify the true Antichrist. It is important to watch for and identify the Antichrist because Jesus Christ told us to do so:

("Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh" (Matthew 25:13)),

        and because the Antichrist is supposed to restore Israel to its covenant domains (including present-day Iraq);

and finally because the Antichrist will inaugurate 1,000 years of peace on earth.

You know, what really hurts me here is that I made a mildly funny comment there at #25.7, and our dear Neron just blazed right through it. Geez, it's almost as if the guy is not a fan of Fleetwood Mac humor or something. What's the matter, Neron, you don't like Rumours or are you still simply appalled at the self-indulgent bloat of Tusk?

        Tom Bombadil,

The concept of the Antichrist underlies the history of Western culture since at least the time of the Middle Ages. This is the opinion of the Encyclopaedia Brtitannica, which attests:

"Then in the West the period arrived in which eschatology, and above all the expectation of the coming of Antichrist, exercised a great influence on the world's history. This period, as is well known, was inaugurated, at the end of the 12th century, by the apocalyptic writings of the abbot Joachim of Floris. Soon the word Antichrist re-echoed from all sides in the embittered controversies of the West. The pope bestowed this title upon the emperor, the emperor upon the pope, the Guelphs on the Ghibellines and the Ghibellines on the Guelphs. In the contests between the rival powers and courts of the period, the prophecy of Antichrist played a political part. It gave motives to art, to lyrical, epic and dramatic poetry.' Among the visionary Franciscans, enthusiastic adherents of Joachim's prophecies, arose above all the conviction that the pope was Antichrist, or at least his precursor. From the Franciscans, influenced by Abbot Joachim, the lines of connexion are clearly traceable with Milic of Kremsier (Libellus de Antichristo) and Matthias of Janow. For Wycliffe and his adherent John Purvey (probably the author of the Commentarius in Apocalypsin ante centum annos editus, edited in 1528 by Luther), as on the other hand for Hus, the conviction that the papacy is essentially Antichrist is absolute. Finally, if Luther advanced in his contest with the papacy with greater and greater energy, he did so because he was borne on by the conviction that the pope in Rome was Antichrist. And if in the Augustana the expression of this conviction was suppressed for political reasons, in the Articles of Schmalkalden, drawn up by him, Luther propounded it in the most uncompromising fashion. This sentence was for him an articulus stantis et cadentis ecclesiae. To write the history of the idea of Antichrist in the last centuries of the middle ages, would be almost to write that of the middle ages themselves." - Article, "Antichrist" from the 11th edition of the Encyclopaedia Brtitannica (published 1911).

While the Apostle John predicted "many antichrists" (1 John 2:18), students of Nostradamus have seen no more than three: Napoleon Bonaparte; Adolf Hitler; and the final and most malevolent of the three, the Antichrist Beast of Revelation 13.

Since the publication of this citation from Encyclopaedia Brtitannica in 1911, we have witnessed the outbreak of the Great War and WWII. Like the history of the Middle Ages, would the editors of this prestigious reference find a similar, though perhaps less transparent, correspondence between the Antichrist and the modern "movements in history"?

I believe in the concept of the Antichrist as "movements in history". The Spirit of the Antichrist is like a musical passage reaching a crescendo; an invisible, though intelligent, presence conducting an orchestra toward the crescendo of history.

This novel notion of prior super-human Intelligence participating in the affairs of human history has heretofore been called Providence. Christians are not unaccustomed to pre-existence pertaining to Jesus Christ. The Apostle John wrote, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, . . . And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)" (John 1:1, 14).

But I conceive of Dual Messiahs, Jesus Christ and the Antichrist. If my concept of Dual Messiahs holds true, is it unorthodox to propose that the pre-existent Antichrist has exercised a similar influence over the course of history, especially over events that bear upon his or her eventual manifestation in the flesh? The Apostle John wrote, "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world" (1 John 4:3).

This concept of the Spirit of the Antichrist is the key to unlocking many major historical mysteries. For example,

        THE BALKANS 1914

I have maintained that the Antichrist would be a Jew descended from MACEDONIA. Is it a wonder that the powder keg of WWI was ignited when Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in the Balkans in 1914?

From a secular (non-religious) point of view, we read:

"By 1914, many factors - industrialisation, nationalism, military and naval rivalry, colonialism - combined to prepare the nations of Europe, and those further afield for war. The inter-relationships of these factors are complex and even now somewhat uncertain. What is certain is that the assassination of an Austrian Archduke by a Serbian-inspired student in June 1914 led to World War." - "SERBIA, BALKANS & MACEDONIA 1914-18",

        http://www.naval-history.net/WW1CampaignsSerbia.htm

To this present day, historians speculate about the cause(s) of the Great War, but they never arrive at a consensus of opinion. Concluding about the consequences of the war is far easier.

WWI resulted in 20 million military and civilian deaths and many more casualties. The maps of Europe and the Middle East were redrawn to reflect the new balances of power. Palestine was transfered from the Ottoman Empire to Great Britain. Under the Mandate of the Christian British, Palestine was opened to Jewish emigration. This was an important step in the prophetic program, which describes the return of the Jews to their Homeland while they are in a spiritual state of unbelief in regard to messianic claims of Jesus Christ.

Jewish emigration to the Holy Land was further spurred by the anti-Semitism of Adolf Hitler and the onset of WWII.

        WWII

In the Introduction of his national bestseller, "A History of the Jews", Paul Johnson states that the reason for the Holocaust is a "conundrum", a supposedly insoluble riddle. I disagree. I believe that understanding the role of the Antichrist in history is the solution to the riddle. Hitler wanted to eliminate any potential Jewish contender for the position of universal dominance. According to prophecy, the Good Antichrist would achieve such a dominance.

Hitler developed a counter-agenda for Aryan dominance in the "Third Reich". There was an occult; i.e., "hidden" aspect to his agenda. He mimicked the Antichrist's own methods and agenda, such as the 1,000-year Reich (counterpart to the Millennium) and most importantly "Mein Kampf" (counterpart to "Dark Messiah: The Coming of the Antichrist"). Both books are autobiographical and promote a "cult" of personality.

The production of a book replaying the Apocalypse is prophesied in Revelation 10 as part of an end-time agenda.

The deportation order initiating the mass deportation of European Jewry to the Nazi Concentration Camps was issued October 14, 1941. Fate had it that the month and day reserved for the birth of the Antichrist would stand as a testimony against the belief held by common or collective Jews that their unassisted faith stood as a bulwark against the advances of ultimate evil. They were wrong!

The occult research department of the Third Reich was certainly aware that according to prophecy European Jewry would produce a rival for Adolf Hitler's vision of world dominance. Like Herod of old, Hitler engaged in mass slaughter to preclude this. But he misread fate; the Good Antichrist's ancestors had already migrated to the New World.

There is a significant, prophetic pattern in history relating to the recurrence of the date October 14. A pre-incarnate "Spirit of Antichrist" would have the power to manipulate human affairs so as to embed repetitive patterns, such as a particular date, into the events of history. It was no mere coincidence that Hitler planned October 14 (1941) to begin the mass deportation of Jews to extermination camps.

For various reasons, I have maintained that the genuine Good Antichrist was born on October 14, 1963:

"The Good Antichrist Born October 14, 1963",

        http://amberneve.newsvine.com/_news/2007/12/22/1181647-the-good-antichrist-born-october-14-1963

Like those of WWI, the consequences of WWII are staggering. Over 60 million people, the majority of them civilians, were killed in WWII. Six million Jews were exterminated in Europe.

In part, these consequences are a result of failing to properly apprehend the value of religion, the concept of Dual Messiahs, and especially the role of the Good Antichrist in human affairs.

        WWIII

WWI was supposed to be the war to end all wars, but only since 1945 have we possessed the means in atomic weaponry to end life on a global scale.

According to the popular glamor-free renditions of the "Bad" Antichrist, he (or she) will lead to the deaths of 1.5 billion people (one-fourth of humanity):

"The Rise and Fall of the Antichrist",

        http://www.lamblion.com/articles/prophecy/issues/PI-18.php

        I do not believe this.

Contrarily, the Good Antichrist is the solution to the world's major problems.

Someone has said that "[i]t is theoretically possible that the Bible could be reinvented to be practical as mythology again, in the hands of a creative and intuitive mythologist."

Not a mythologist, but a messiah.

Popular modern "mythologies", such as found in Star Wars and the Lord of the Rings, are derived from the Old and New Testament teaching about Dual Messiahs. The idea of two messiahs has been almost entirely lost to our modern minds. It is the compass, or key, to restoring the relevance of religion and inaugurating the long-sought thousand years of universal peace.

This second messiah, popularly known as the Antichrist, is the primary agent in the Book of Revelation. Revelation has been mistranslated and misinterpreted because of the faulty premise held by most scholars that there is only one messiah, Jesus Christ. Revelation is almost exclusively about the Antichrist, who is depicted as a SISTER Messiah (metaphorically) committed to the task of preparing the Bride for the Bridegroom; i.e., delivering up the Kingdom to Jesus Christ.

The Kingdom of God is the territory between the Nile and Euphrates rivers under Jewish messianic administration; a pluralistic nation for Jews, Christians, and Muslims, with the Ten Commandments as the Constitution.

Each of the monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) has entrenched itself as the sole arbiter of the faith, so bringing them together on religious and political grounds necessitates a mighty feat, requiring someone with plenteous authority; someone on the magnitude of a Messiah or Mahdi.

The form of proposed government is a Christocracy, a blend of religious and secular influences in which the messiah, in lieu of the Father, is the ultimate arbiter in both. A true Theocracy would not be feasible until God makes earth His abode (Revelation 21:3).

Because my goal is the restoration of Israel to the Covenant Domains promised to the Jews in the Bible, my writings are primarily characterized by messianism and prophecy. As you read my writings and compare the popular notion of the Antichrist against my own portrayal of him, ask the question,

Is the Antichrist really the arch-enemy of humankind?

This is a question that sooner or later everyone will have to answer.

        Tom Bombadil,

There is NOTHING to fear but fear itself. - FDR

Perhaps FDR, especially when compared and contrasted with Adolf Hitler, more closely resembles my description of the Good Antichrist. Do some research on FDR's role in the design of the modern dollar bill, for example, and then consider the following remarks:

Is the Great Seal of the United States Prophetic? Is it possible that the American $1 bill is one of the greatest evangelistic tools of modern times?

Anyone perceptive to the symbols of the Antichrist will notice them emblazoned on the Great Seal of the United States.

The Seal is a pictogram. A pictogram, also known as a pictograph, is a picture representing a word or idea. In "The Secret Teachings of All Ages" Manly P. Hall wrote, "In a single figure a symbol may both reveal and conceal, for to the wise the subject of the symbol is obvious, while to the ignorant the figure remains inscrutable."

(I invite the reader to read "Great Seal of the United States" (October 2006) for a thorough background.)

The Seal is comprised of an obverse and a reverse.

THE ELEMENTS ON THE OBVERSE ARE:

        Eagle

Arrows in a bundle of thirteen

Olive branch (having thirteen leaves and thirteen olives)

Motto, "E Pluribus Unum" ("Out of Many, One")

Star of David formed by thirteen stars above the eagle

        Shield over the eagle's breast

THE ELEMENTS ON THE REVERSE ARE:

        Pyramid, unfinished with thirteen layers

        Eye

1776 in Roman numerals on the base of the pyramid

Motto, "Annuit Cœptis", meaning [the Eye has] "nodded at (our) beginnings"; [He has] "blessed our beginning"; "Announcing The Birth Of"

Motto, "Novus Ordo Seclorum", meaning "a new order of the ages" (commonly rendered, "New World Order")

        SIGNIFICANCE:

The key to interpreting the meaning of the Great Seal is the Star of David, which is formed by the thirteen stars hovering over the head of the eagle.

The Star of David is a Jewish religious symbol. It is the centerpiece of the official state flag of Israel. It is reasonable for an American to ask, What is the Star of David doing on the official Seal of the United States?

The Star of David is composed of two interlocking triangles, one pointing up and the other pointing down. Each triangle represents one of the two prophesied messiahs, Christ and Antichrist.

According to Wikipedia (article, "Messiah"), "The concept of the messiah varies in traditional and contemporary Judaism. The view of the messiah in talmudic literature is that there are two messiahs, Moshiach ben Yossef (Messiah son of Joseph) and Moshiach ben David (Messiah son of David). The Hebrew ben can mean either son or descendant. In this sense it can also mean 'in the manner of', i.e., there will be a 'suffering servant' messiah in the manner of Joseph son of Israel/Jacob and a different messiah in the manner of King David."

The Great Seal of the United States is modeled after this Moshiach ben Yossef (Messiah son of Joseph).

        Number 13

There is a repetitive use of elements counting thirteen:

        * 13 stars * 13 stripes * 13 arrows in the eagle's talon * 13 letters in the motto * 13 laurel leaves * 13 berries on the branch * 13 brick levels of the pyramid

In the field of occult science, the number 13 is significant. Relative to this article, Nero ascended the throne of Pagan Rome on October 13. Nero is the prototype in the thirteenth chapter of Revelation of the end-time Antichrist. The Antichrist was born on October 14, 1963 in the United States. Calculating for the 24-hour rotation of the earth, October 14 falls within the range of possibility -- plus or minus one day -- of October 13.

        Shield

The shield is reminiscent of the national flag. The Antichrist is under the protective care of the United States of America.

        Archery metaphor

The "Bowman" is a hand-sign in which TWO fingers, the index finger and the middle finger, are positioned together to draw back the string on a bow. The Sign of the Bowman is also known as the Sign of Nimrod. The bow is associated with Joseph. "But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty [God] of Jacob; (from thence [is] the shepherd, the stone of Israel" (Genesis 49:22-24). The bow is associated with the Antichrist. "And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer." (Revelation 6:2). When the same two fingers of the Bowman are separated, they form a "V", the Sign of Peace.

        Olive Branch

According to Wikipedia (article, "Olive Branch"), "Deriving from its origins in Ancient Greece as a symbol of peace and prosperity, the olive branch is used throughout many western cultures to convey the idea of peace."

The Antichrist is known as "The Greek". (See my article, "The Book of Romans Predicts the Antichrist" (May 2006).) Precisely, he is part Macedonian, modeled after Alexander the Great. He is thus known as the "Little Horn" in Daniel 8:9.

"And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them" (Acts 16:9, 10). This vision is prophetic of the role and mission of the Antichrist. He will restore the Gospel, don the imperial purple (verse 14), and exorcise the spirit from the Harlot of Babylon (verses 16-18; Revelation 14:8; 17:1-18; 18:1-24). Like Timothy, he will be racially mixed. Acts 16:1.

A second grace, also rendered "benefit", will accrue to the world when the Macedonian Antichrist is "brought on [his] way toward Judaea". "And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit; And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judaea" (2 Corinthians 1:15, 16).

        Eagle

The Bible compares God to an eagle. "As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: [So] the LORD alone did lead him, and [there was] no strange god with him" (Deuteronomy 32:11, 12).

"And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent" (Revelation 12:14). A 42-year-old woman is divinely empowered to face-down the serpent, a symbol of Satan (Revelation 12:9). The imagery is suggestive of one more powerful that Satan, in the manner that a bird of prey has power to kill a snake. The serpent who deceived Eve was regarded by the Jews as the Devil. While Jesus Christ stands at the head of humanity as the Second Adam (Romans 5:14-19), this woman appears to stand at the head of humanity as the Second Eve. The salvific process whereby dual messiahs are respectively male and female, appears to be a reversal of the process whereby sinned entered the world. "And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat" (Genesis 3:6). "And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression" (1 Timothy 2:14).

        Pyramid

Joseph, a type of the Antichrist Messiah, is associated with Egypt. The mother of Joseph's sons was an Egyptian. "And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him" (Genesis 46:20).

The pyramid is unfinished. The eye is centered in the capstone of the pyramid.

        Eye

The eye insignia first appeared on the dollar bill in 1935. It has been claimed that the eye symbolizes God watching over all things. "The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good" (Proverbs 15:3, Revised Standard Version).

However, the mystic eye appears inside a triangle, forming the capstone of the pyramid. The eye cannot represent God because God cannot be contained. Furthermore, the obverse and reverse (containing the eye) of the Seal appear on either side of the phrase, "In God We Trust". God is not speaking of Himself. The eye represents someone who trusts in God. The triangle around the eye may have come from the two triangles forming the Star of David, thus representing one of the two messiahs. Whereas, Jesus was the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:19-22) of the spiritual temple, the Antichrist is the capstone of the mystic pyramid.

The capstone is not joined to the Pyramid. Only when the New World Order is established in all nations and the world leader is enthroned will the plan be complete.

The "eye" that Scripture wants us to consider is not the physical organ of sight, but the eye of the mind or the soul. This singular eye is sometimes called the "third eye" of clairvoyance. It is in this sense used in Ezekiel 1:4, "And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness [was] about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour [`ayin, literally "eye"] of amber, out of the midst of the fire."

Other contender concepts are the Eye of Providence, the Evil Eye, and the All-Seeing or All-Knowing Eye.

According to Wikipedia (article, "Evil Eye"), "The evil eye is a widely distributed element of folklore, in which it is believed that the envy elicited by the good luck of fortunate people, . . . may result in their misfortune."

"The word 'evil' can be seen as somewhat misleading in this context, because it suggests that someone has intentionally 'cursed' the victim. A better understanding of the term 'evil eye' can be gained from the old English and Scottish word for casting the evil eye, namely 'overlooking,' implying that the gaze has remained focused on the coveted object, person, or animal for too long." (same).

Also, "Among Jews, fish are considered to be immune to the evil eye, so their images are often found on hamsa hand amulets. A red thread is also said to protect babies against the evil eye, and according to folkloric custom it is placed on the pillow upon which a newborn baby is presented for the first time at a viewing by family and friends. In the late 20th century it became the custom to wind a red string around the tomb of the great Matriarch, Rachel [Joseph was one of the two sons of Rachel. Genesis 35:24.], located near Bethlehem, in historic Palestine, or what is now known as the Occupied Palestinian Territories, then to cut the string into pieces and give them out to be worn on the left wrist as an effective protection against the evil eye. According to this custom, the left hand is considered to be the receiving side for the body and soul, and by wearing the red string on the left wrist, believers receive a vital connection to the protective energies surrounding the tomb of Rachel, carrying her protective energy with them and drawing from it any time there is need. The Kabbalah Centre puts much emphasis on this custom, which is virtually unknown in classical Kabbalah."

Is the evil eye really evil? You decide.

"And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell" (Matthew 5:29).

"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light" (Matthew 6:22).

FURTHER REMARKS REGARDING THE UNITED STATES DOLLAR

        George Washington

The image of George Washington appears on the United States dollar note. Just as George Washington is the Founding Father of the United States, the Antichrist is the Father of an everlasting messianic Israel. "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6). See my article, "The Book of Romans Predicts the Antichrist" (May 2006). It is ironic and fitting that the Antichrist heralds from the State of Washington. Given that the Antichrist is an ethnic American, it is certain that the next thousand years, popularly known as the Millennium, will bear the stamp of American influence.

        Denomination of One

The concept of "One" is fundamental to the Antichrist's theology and "political" agenda. No other denomination of currency, such as a $5 or $20 note, would convey the same symbolism.

        CONCLUSION

In 1935, Franklin Delano Roosevelt approved the use of the Great Seal of the United States on the back of the one-dollar bill. Whether they realize it or not, the message of the Great Seal entered the psyche of every man, woman, and child from that moment he or she became conscious of money. The identifying elements of the Antichrist appear in the form of a pictogram. By passing with the hand a dollar bill, every participant in our buying-and-selling economy has had the identifying elements of the Antichrist imprinted on the mind's eye.

"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads" (Revelation 13:16).

According to some ancient texts, the antichrist will also be able to type very fast and very long. Of course, I don't believe those texts, but I'm just sayin' ...

I hear the antichrist will be exceptionally eloquent as well.

Of course, again, that Oct 1963 date is uncomfortably close to my own birthdate, so I am starting to worry ... about myself.

Maybe I should call Pastor Hagee. Since he knows Obama isn't the antichrist, perhaps he would have some clues about who is.

Glen Beck is the Anti-Genius. According to my count that would make Obama what? The FIFTH Antichrist we've had? There's a lot of turnover in that job - it must suck.

I think I'll pass on that one, maybe apply for Junior Demon or something with a little less pressure.

The hours are terrible, you have to work on Sundays and holy days, and the benefits package has no 401K plan. There is a 666 plan, but it only pays out with eternal hellfire and damnation for all time. It's not like you can finance the grandkids' college that way, hey?

But the worst thing is the constant tempting, tempting, tempting. If you're a people person, fine, but sometimes you just wanna let your horns down, put your feet up and say "Yeah, yeah, yeah, go ahead and share with the poor. See if I care."
